How would you feel about more issues of Multiplier?

It’s been about six months since Multiplier kicked off and I have been thrilled by both the response to it and the quality of the work published. I’m planning to do a more comprehensive retrospective later in the year but for now let’s just say that I’m extremely appreciative of everyone who has tagged in for an article to date. This project couldn’t really exist in its current form without you, so thank you for your time, your insight and your words.

As I teased a few weeks back, I’m looking to shake up the formula a little in 2025. To start with, I’m looking to talk with more developers. In the same way that Multiplier allows me to wax lyrical about stuff that’s difficult to justify or pitch elsewhere, I really want to try and grow it as a potential platform for talking about issues and studios that struggle to get attention elsewhere. There are going to be some natural constraints on that endeavor but I want to try all the same.

To kick off this effort, the publishing cadence of Multiplier is going to temporarily rev up from fortnightly to weekly as we work out way through a series of loosely-connected issues that spotlight Australian games and highlight the perspectives of those in the Australian games industry.

The first of these — which will feature Ally McLean Hennessey of Lemonade Games — will be dropping in a few days time, so look forward to that.

Following the conclusion of this series, the plan is to return to a fortnightly cadence but this email is just a friendly heads-up to highlight that you’ll be seeing a few extra issues of Multiplier in your inbox this month.

Until then.
